NEWS
We were so sorry to disappoint you by having to postpone our screening of The Ballad of Wallis Island in October. We spotted this brilliant British comedy immediately on its release and built it into our schedule of films for the autumn. It seems the success of the film has even taken the film distributors by surprise as they have unexpectedly extended the period of theatrical release in mainstream cinemas, before they allow release onto DVD and wider distribution, meaning we cannot show it. We were caught out on this one but also delighted that we spotted a winner so early. We have now secured a licence to show The Ballad of Wallis Island on Saturday 13 December which is sure to bring some light-hearted relief to a dark winters evening. We hope to see you there.
As is customary, we will not be announcing the full season’s programme, all at once, so the listings we are announcing now just take us through to November.
In the meantime, we’ve got our eyes on some really interesting movies to bring you in the rest of the season…

Something completely different…
Not part of our programme but nevertheless an important film that everyone should see
We are proud to be projecting, on behalf of the film’s makers, an acclaimed documentary, Wild Coast Warriors about an environmental and ecological battle between local communities and ‘Big Oil’..
.
For centuries, indigenous people have lived sustainably while resisting invaders on South Africa’s Wild Coast. In this documentary about a David and Goliath court-case struggle against Shell, these communities succeeded in halting oil / gas exploration, winning ongoing protection for their ocean and culture.
