Nearly 30 people came to our screening of ‘Hive’ – a raw and uncompromising film about the women of a Kosovan village which had lost a generation of its menfolk in the war with Serbia in the 1990s. Its always a risk screening such a niche film as this but the unanimous approval from the audience proved we were right!

In a further departure from our normal activities, on the 21st March at 8.00pm, we are screening, on behalf of the Lamberhurst History Society, a unique piece of local cinema history, ‘Days of Chivalry’. This was a film made by two families, the Ffennels and the Husseys (of Scotney fame) in the 1920’s. Scotney features prominently as a location (which will be instantly recognisable) as do members of the Hussey family and many local villagers filling roles as extras. An important piece of local history and also, according to the BFI, a highly significant work in the history of high quality amateur cinema production.
